The restore process can take up to 15 minutes, but when it’s done, just tap “Reboot System” and everything will be back the way it was. Next, from TWRP’s main menu, start by tapping the “Backup” button. After that, you see a list of check boxes—make sure that the “Boot,” “System,” and “Data” options are selected here. Finally, just swipe the slider at the bottom of the screen to start the backup process, which can take as long as 15 minutes.

Android devices are always open to many customizations, you can force Android to update and reinstall the new OS on your device in a few simple steps. A new Android OS will replace the manufacturer’s modded version with a stock and clean version. Or, it can even beef up the existing Android OS version with amazing new features. If TWRP is not an option for you (locked bootloader, unsupported device etc), you may want to check out Helium. Helium is a no-root adb-based solution similar in principle to TWRP. It transfers (bi-directional) apps and also the critically important app data.

Installing a new ROM will  give a new life to old smartphone. Yes, I had used TWRP recovery on my Galaxy S8  when I wanted to replace the stock ROM, which runs very slowly. Now, its time firmware to learn how you can restore that backup if you messed up everything. If you are able to take TWRP backup via ADB, then obviously you can also restore it back directly via ADB.

This is the official ADB and Fastboot binary provided by Google and is the only recommended one. So download it and then extract it to any convenient location on your PC.
